Gateway to Fr33dom Symposium Summary

Yesterdays’ Symposium was met with great success. Comments include people learning so much, identifying people they are already working with as human trafficking victims, and hearing a survivor’s perspective for the first time. 178 people attended yesterday to show their support in ending Human Trafficking.

We learned about internet safety for our children, how to build rapport with victims, about the anti-trafficking efforts in the state of Florida, and how we can actively help end trafficking by doing simple things in our day to day lives.

A special thank you to the Columbia High School Thespian Group #2934 for sharing their pantomime depicting the realities of trafficking in our country. Also, thank you to the Outreach & Awareness subcommittee of the Gateway to Fr33dom Human Trafficking Task Force for planning yesterday’s activities and to the Columbia County School District for donating the venue.

Gateway To Freedom Symposium 1/22/2020

Tomorrow is the 3rd Annual Human Trafficking Symposium in Lake City. We’re super excited and have 252 registered. There is still time to register and seats available.

We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to the Columbia County Schools for donating their auditorium for the event.

We’re going to have some great presenters and presentations you don’t want to miss, including a pantomime performance by a local high school. This is one symposium you don’t want to miss.

Shared Hope Releases State Grades

In November Shared Hope International, a leading anti-Human Trafficking organization, released State grades in relation to the efforts to combat Human Trafficking in each State. The link below is Florida’s grade and explanation of how it was calculated.

You may ask, “How does Florida compare to other States?” Florida and North Carolina are tied at seventh. What does that mean?
